I swear I’ve seen this photo somewhere before.
Sportbikes don’t really do it for me. Scramblers are where it’s at.

id like a scrambler to fuck off on some light fire roads or single track. but for the vast majority of my riding, i would use a sportbike more.
plus, dem curves.

I thought triumphs had become far better in terms of reliability?

they have come leaps and bounds ahead of where they were.
but remember, I do something like 15k miles at minimum a year on a bike.

They really are beautiful, but they are terrible bikes. My friend bought one and in the first year it spent nearly 4months in the shop. He ended up getting Triumph to buy it back.

Ahh, yeah that’d be a big nope on a triumph. Except maybe the Tigers, I’ve seen some ridiculous high mileage examples, but then again you don’t exactly strike me as an adventure bike type.

I know 3 guys with them, one who has had 2 (a first gen, and this one)
they have had nothing but trouble-free travels with them. The one guys kawasaki concours though....nothing but trouble for him.

yea. I DO have the BMW (and w/e will be replacing it) as a back up bike. So I will probably get the triumph. and do w/e I can to keep it well maintained and high miles.

I’m not a bike guy, but these are 675R’s right? Maybe he was just really unlucky. It was pretty heartbreaking for him. He didn't even replace it with another bike. He got a Vette instead.

all of them are R’s except for the very top white/blue one. that is the standard 675 (i liked the blue on it..even though its darker IRL then the photo would suggest)
r’s have full brembo brakes and olhins suspension. ‘standard’ 675s had nissan brakes up front (though a brembo unit in the back) and kayaba suspension front and rear

Did they all get the clutchless upshift? Because that was an awesome feature.

They're pretty dead nuts reliable. Coming from a Triumph/Ducati service manager of 7 years and 675 owner/racer for 8yrs. The 2013+ model is a real peach too.

you can do clutchless up shift on any bike you want. just have to time chopping the throttle :D
yes, a quickshifter is an option, if not standard

I had a 08 and an 09, both great bikes! The voltage regulator on the 08 kept blowing every 3-4 times I rode it, that got pretty frustrating but luckily Triumph of North America have really good customer service. They took the 08 with about 5k miles on it off my hands and gave me a 09 with 150 miles on it for free! I just sold the 09 last July because I wasn’t riding it as much as I should have been. I still miss the howl of the 3 cylinder at full throttle and the smell of the scented race exhaust on it.
